    Change of Heart: The Follow Up to the Facebook Challenge

    Have you ever had a moment where you were just blown away by something God did? Something so unexpected yet incredible that you knew it was only Him?

    The Facebook Challenge I Wanted to Ignore

    It was a simple challenge on a friend’s page:

    “Single mothers, call your children’s father and share with them one thing you appreciate about him as a father.”

    I chuckled, sensing this wasn’t going to end well.

    I knew my friend had good intentions. Being a single dad of three boys himself, he simply wanted to spark a healthy conversation to try to boost the image of fathers.

    Behind the Scene with Natasha B.

    Meet Natasha B. – an up and coming free-lance makeup artist from New York City.

    I first met Natasha in a religion class we had to take for our undergraduate degree.  Back then, our biggest concerns were figuring out what we would have for dinner, where we could find a good reggae party or how we could finance our next shopping spree.

    Even in her early 20’s, Natasha has always had a strength and independence that I’ve admired. It is that same strength that helps her today as she faces life as a single mother.

    7 Things You Should NEVER Say to a Single Mother

    You’ve probably heard it before – “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”  It’s a cute nursery rhyme we learn as kids, but as we grow up, we quickly learn words do hurt. They can even hurt more than sticks and stones.

    Being a single mother often invites unsolicited comments and opinions from others.

    While some comments may come from a genuine place, they can be internalized negatively by a single mother.
