Why Did I Have A Baby With Him? Tips to Help You With Co-Parenting.

I’ll be honest. I did not always enjoy being a single parent.

For the first few years I constantly asked myself  “why did I have a baby with him?”

It was never a question about my love for my daughter. I just wished there was a way I could have her without dealing with the drama and heartache of a failed relationship.

I’m sure I am not the only single parent that’s felt that way.

With close to 12 million single parent families in the United States, co-parenting is becoming the new “norm”. Whether never married, divorced, or separated, more and more Americans are having to learn how to coexist for the sake of their children.

Take it from someone who’s living it firsthand, it is not always easy!

Figuring out how to co-parent can be one of the toughest challenges any newly single mom (or dad) will face.

Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All

With Spring just around the corner, most of us will embark on our annual spring cleaning adventures.

We’ll sift through our closets and swap out our wardrobes. Our windows and furnishings will be meticulously dusted and polished to welcome in the new season.

But what if God is calling us to do a different kind of cleaning this year?

Proverbs 18:21a says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” and while many women are familiar with this scripture, watching our words can be a daily struggle.

That’s why our next book club read will be “Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All” by Karen Ehman.

If Only I Could Be Like Mary!

But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”  Luke 10:41-42

    Cue the violins…and…action:

“Ok Roxanne…wait, what day of the week is it again?

    Oh thank God, it’s Saturday!

Ugh, but it’s only 5:30am. I should go back to bed.

I can get up around 7 o’clock. Do at least one load of laundry. Get to the hair salon by 8am. Hopefully be finished by 10am.

Then I’ll go straight to Costco. Return home. Finish the rest of the laundry. Clean the house. Iron my daughter’s uniforms for the upcoming school week.

    *Insert deep sigh*

    Goodbye 2016. Hello 2017!

    Hi Friends,

I’ve written and rewritten this email about three times…(that’s not an exaggeration)….but this time I’m sure I’ve gotten it right.

I was going to share this clever rant about how I was completely and utterly over 2016.

I even had this really great analogy about how the past few months have been an emotional and spiritual roller coaster ride and how much I hate roller coasters. (Fun fact: I’ve only been on a roller coaster twice in my entire life and I don’t plan on there being a third time, like ever!)

But the more I keep thinking about my year, the more God is changing my perspective.
