    Living A Disappointment Free 2018

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Our year to see our business boom.

Something We Can All Share With The World

In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Isaiah 12:4-5 (NIV)

It’s Thanksgiving Day, and that can only mean one thing. Get ready to have your taste buds salivating all day (and night) as your family and friends share snapshots of their dinner and desserts up and down your news feeds.

There’ll be pictures. Videos. Memes. All showcasing the turkey, trimmings, and treats that will fill homes and stomachs all across America today.

We’ll see and read all about what’s happening in places near and far. It’s part of the delight of living in the age of social media.

But instead of only sharing what’s on our dinner plates, this year, why don’t we share something more meaningful with our networks.

Maintaining Your Salvation When Life Stresses You Out

Have you ever seen the Snickers commercials?  You know the ones from the “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign? Well, that’s exactly how I am when life gets stressful and I am feeling completely overwhelmed.

When things in my world get too chaotic, I’m no where near to being a sweetly saved, compassionate, and caring person.

Family, friends, co-workers, even strangers – they all get my I just want to be left alone, passive aggressive cold shoulder.

That is until the Holy Spirit pulls me back from morphing into someone I am not proud of.

The Downright Dreadful and Difficult “S” Word

Wives, obey your own husbands. In doing this, you obey the Lord.  For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church…As the church is to obey Christ, wives are to obey their own husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24 (NLV)

I’ve always been an independent, do things my own way kind of girl.

My family and close friends, they’d probably say I’m stubborn or hardheaded. But I like independent better, don’t you?

It’s a much more pleasant spin on what can be a downright dreadful and difficult topic, submission.

Being the good Christian girl I am, I’ve heard all the scriptures and sermons about submitting many, many times.

But that does nothing to stop the automatic eye rolls or slow the “ain’t nobody going to tell me what to do” chorus that quickly arises in my heart and my head.
